Classic Mercedes W111 Restoration

Well with the racing calendar suspended we had to find a diversion for idle hands. Enter a 1965 Mercedes W111 in need of a ground up restoration.

With only 56,000 miles and 3 previous owners – all in the same family – this beautiful saloon was too good to let go. We’re starting a  full ‘rubber up’ restoration here in our workshop.

The Mercedes-Benz W111 was a chassis code given to a range of Mercedes-Benz vehicles produced between 1959 and 1971, including four-door sedans (1959-1968) and two-door coupés and cabriolets (1961 to 1971). Their bodywork featured distinctive American-style tailfins that gave the models their Heckflosse nickname — German for “fintail”.
